Getting to the University

Kent, the UK and north-west Europe

Canterbury and Medway have good road and rail links to London's Gatwick and Heathrow airports. The Channel ports at Dover and Ramsgate and the Channel tunnel terminal (for cars) at Folkestone, are approximately 30 minutes from Canterbury and Wye and just over an hour from Medway; the Eurostar stations of Ashford International and Ebbsfleet International are within easy reach.

Brussels has its own international airport and excellent road and rail links into France, Germany and The Netherlands. There is a direct service from Brussels to the Eurostar station at Ebbsfleet.

The Canterbury campus

The Canterbury campus is built on 300 acres (120 hectares) of parkland overlooking Canterbury and is 25 minutes' walk from the city cente. The on-campus student accommodation and teaching buildings are surrounded by green spaces, fields and woods which means that students enjoy a pleasant learning and living environment.

The Medway campus

The Medway campus in Chatham was established in spring 2000 and is shared with the University of Greenwich, Canterbury Christ Church University and Mid-Kent College. The campus is a former Royal Navy Barracks, built between 1897 and 1903, and is located in Chatham's Historic Dockyard. Its red brick Victorian buildings are all protected and the converted library (in the old drill hal) is thought to be the longest in Europe.

University of Kent at Brussels

The University of Kent at Brussels is a specialist postgraduate school in the 'Capital of Europe'. The second most international city in the world (measured by the number of headquarters of international organisations), Brussels is a world centre for international affairs and provides excellent opportunities for networking and professional advancement. Kent's new premises, opened in 2006, are just 15 minutes from the city centre.

University of Kent at Tonbridge

Maps and directions

The University of Kent at Tonbridge offers part-time certificates, diplomas and honours degrees in a number of Humanities subjects. The centre provides a small library of books and journals, and public PCs for student use, with word processing, email and access to the internet. All students at Tonbridge have access to the resources on Kent’s other campuses.
